Data
Connect data sources, link variables to actuals, and check the actuals against the source.
A data source brings actuals into Scenario planning. Actuals are the numbers that already happened. Eigenn reads them from three kinds of data: Xero profit and loss and balance-sheet accounts, monthly totals for each transaction category, and issued invoices.
A source does not change a model until you link it to a variable. A linked variable shows the source values in its actual periods. In the forecast periods, it runs its formula or takes your input. The model's Last actual date sets where the actual periods stop.
You manage sources on the Data page. Go to Scenario planning → Data. The page groups the sources by provider. Each card shows the source label, a status badge, and the time of the last refresh. Use the All, Yours, and Shared tabs and the search box to find a source. Yours shows the sources that you created. Select New to add a source.

Use the pages in this group in this order for a new model:
- Connect the source.
- Link each variable to one item of the source.
- Refresh the source and check one known period.
Pages in this group
- Connect a data source: add a Xero, bank-transaction, CSV, Stripe, or QuickBooks source from the catalog.
- Link a variable to data: attach a category, an account, or invoice actuals to a variable.
- Use transaction categories as actuals: use monthly category totals in a monthly model.
- Choose cash or accrual for Xero: set the accounting method of a Xero statement source.
- Refresh and check actuals: update a source and compare one period with the source records.
